You receive only those career opportunities that meet your unique specifications - gone are the days of receiving spam offers to "Make $5,000 a month from home!"

Our member companies are not just looking to fill 1 or 2 specific positions, rather, they're looking for specific 'talent" who possess the attributes, qualifications and professional interests that align with opportunities. These opportunities may exist now, arise in the next week, next month, or next year...but when they do arise, you'll be in the best possible position to begin your desired career.

1stGiG.com brings you career opportunities based on your specific interests. You'll no longer spend hours trolling job boards and finding nothing that suits your qualifications or interests. Leave that to us - we've made a commitment to work 24/7/365 to deliver customized career opportunities to your e-mail or mobile the moment we find a match. Cover letters and resumes are a thing of the past - we find opportunities based on your skills, interests, and personal attributes. Job boards require you to constantly monitor and revisit them to discover new postings. When you register with 1stGiG.com, you begin an ongoing search process that provides you information about and access to employers that already have, or will have, opportunities matching your qualifications. How long does your membership last?

1stGig.com is a membership based service. Once you join 1stGiG.com you remain a member from the time you join to three years following your date of graduation. This means for your one time membership fee you will receive confidential notices of career opportunities any time the system identifies an opportunity that matches your interests and requirements.

How will I be notified of matches?

You'll receive notification of a match through e-mail or via text message (or both). You select the method that's most convenient for you. You can also access a complete summary of your matching results within your Career Profile on the 1stGiG.com web site.

How long can I stay in someone's talent pool?

You'll stay in an employer's talent pool for as long as you want to maintain a relationship with that employer and, if you so choose, even after your 1stGiG.com membership expires. We don't believe there's an expiration date on talent - as such, we don't set arbitrary deadlines.

Do I have to fill out the personal attribute section of my profile?

Yes. Your personal attributes set you apart from others and are a key factor in an employer's decision to offering early career talent employer opportunities. The more potential employers know about you, the better they'll be able to present you with career opportunities that capitalize on your attributes.

What is a Career Profile?

The Career Profile is a personal summary of your education, experience, skills, personal attributes and career interests. The information in your profile is used to generate career opportunity matches, and is also presented to your matching employers. The wealth of information captured in the Career Profile renders the "traditional" resume obsolete.

How long will it take me to complete a Career Profile? (45 minutes or less)

You'll be able to complete your career profile in about 45 minutes - but you'll be able to save it periodically as you progress through the questions. After saving, you can return to complete and update your profile at any time.

Why should I pay to use 1stGiG.com when there are other free career resources?

There are a number of reasons why 1stGiG.com membership is of value to you over free resources. First and foremost, 1stGiG.com is a service not a resource. How does the system work?

The system compares and analyzes the Career Category Profile of talent (you) with the Career Category Profile of employers. This process identifies matches between what your career interests (like industry, type of company, location, compensation, travel, and career categories e.g. sales, accounting, marketing, finance, etc.) are with what the talent need is for an employer. Once a match is identified you are notified with information for you to review and accept or reject an opportunity. When you accept an opportunity your information is provided to the employer and you then automatically receive the information on how to initiate the relationship with the employer interested in you!

When can I expect to receive a match?

The timing of Talent receiving matches varies from person to person depending on how specific or general you have defined your career requirements. Many 1stGiG.com members receive matches shortly after joining! As the 1stGiG.com membership expands so will the frequency of matching Career Profiles.

What is a Career Category?

A career category is a functional area within a company (e.g., accounting, sales, marketing, etc.). It allows an employer to identify talent within their functional area of interest, and further utilize the selection process to determine the ideal organizational fit.

How long will it take me to complete a Career Profile?

Creating your first Career Category Profile takes less than forty-five minutes. Using 1stGiG.com's copy/duplicate function makes creating additional profiles easier and can be accomplished in less than fifteen minutes. Once a Profile is established it takes no maintenance or time unless you desire to make a change(s) to your requirements.

Are there any limits to the number of Career Category Profiles I can create?

No! As a 1stGiG.com member you have unlimited use of the system and can create as many Career Category Profiles as you need!

How long does a Career Category Profile stay active?

Career Category Profiles never age and remains active within the system until you deactivate the Profile or you are no longer are a member of 1stGiG.com. The system continuously compares and assesses existing and new Talent members to identify any potential matching Profiles no matter when you have established your Profile or when Talent may have entered the system.

What if I'm looking for talent in multiple locations?

Just as you can create profiles listing specific disciplines or areas of study, you can create a profile for each location where you are seeking talent - or you can consolidate multiple locations into one profile. If you wish to organize your results on a location-by-location basis, it's best to create a separate profile for each locale (which can be accomplished with the click of a button).

What if multiple users at my company want to create career profiles?

The system allows multiple users within a single account, however, employers with many users may benefit from purchasing additional accounts. When having multiple users in a single account, all parties use the same login information, and all results appear on a single results report page.

Can the Career Category Profiles be customized?

Each Career Category Profile can be customized to identify talent based on education, achievements, geographic location, educational institution, and an extensive array of other profile factors. Our duplication feature makes it simple to modify a core profile, saving you the time and hassle of re-entering the same information time and time again. If you only need to change a few requirements, you can copy and revise to generate a new profile with a couple of clicks.

What criteria does the 1stGiG.com system screen and match on between Talent and Employers?

The 1stGiG.com matching process directly matches the specified career interests & requirements of Talent with the staffing requirements of an Employer. This can include the type and size of an employer, geographic location, school, degree, GPA, major, language, technology skills, certifications, intern/work experience, compensation structure, and personal/professional attributes. From both a Talent and Employer perspective you receive exactly what you are search for based upon the Career Profile.

How will I be notified of Talent matches?

You determine how you'd like to receive notification of talent matches - be it via e-mail, text message, or both. You can also access a complete summary of the matching results for each of your Career Category Profiles on the 1stGiG.com web site.

How does the Talent hear about and join 1stGiG.com?

Talent becomes aware of 1stGiG.com in a variety of ways. First, we have an extensive Campus Representative Program on campuses across the US where we have students on individual campus who are promoting and marketing the 1stGiG.com service directly to fellow students. We are also using social media, direct marketing, word of mouth and other traditional marketing activities. We even have some of our Employer members who are promoting 1stGiG.com on their website, campus communications and other employment information distributed to Talent at the campus level.

How can I encourage talent to "accept" a match with my company?

Each Career Category Profile has a section called "Career Opportunity". The information in this section is for you to promote your opportunity, corporate culture and set yourself apart from competing career opportunities. This is a free text area that you create to fully communicate the opportunity with your Company. You can also attach links to multi-media presentations as well. This information is sent to each matching Talent Profile so they can review and decide if it is a career opportunity they will accept and pursue.

What if I'm looking for talent in multiple disciplines?

The Career Category profiles are very customizable. You can incorporate a variety of requirements into a single Profile or create a multiple Profiles depending on your need. We are always available to assist you in developing your Career Category Profiles to assure that you obtain the most from your membership!

How much does a 1stGiG.com annual membership cost?

An annual membership for unlimited use including "Featured Employer" on our website home page is $350.00. This is basically the cost of one thirty (30) day job posting on a premium job board site. The value of the 1stGiG.com membership is in excess of $6,000 per year when comparing to annual premium job board use.
